On the effect of geomagnetic activity level on plasma parameters at Swarm's altitude.

The state of the Earth's ionospheric plasma is strongly affected by the changes of the interplanetary conditions and the magnetospheric dynamics. This is particularly true for the high-latitude ionosphere, where plasma convection and dynamic configuration depend on the interplanetary-magnetic-field (IMF) condition and by the dynamics of the Earth's magnetospheric tail. Here, we present a study of the changes of some plasma parameters (electron density and temperature, etc.) as a function of the different geomagnetic activity levels as measured by AE index. The different patterns of these plasma parameters are compared with the mean statistical convection patterns acquired using a SuperDARN dynamic model (CS10 model) in similar physical conditions.
