The Legnaro integrated neutron sources suite.

At INFN-Legnaro (LNL) a large effort is devoted to create new accelerator systems that can power a suite of neutron sources for a wide spectrum of different neutron applications. The LNL 70 MeV proton cyclotron will feed a quasi mono-energetic neutron source for multi-disciplinary applications and an atmospheric-like neutron source for studying neutron-induced single event effects in electronics. The study of high power neutron sources is also in progress, to be driven by a lower energy (5 MeV) high current beam, exploiting the CN proton accelerator (6 MeV, 3 $\mu)$A) to test prototypes performance. These sources will be dedicated to produce cold, thermal, epithermal and fast neutrons (up to $\sim 5$ MeV) for a variety of research programs, including: materials characterization by neutron resonance analysis technique, neutron imaging, neutron instrumentation, nuclear astrophysics, neutron data and boron neutron capture therapy research and development.
