Accelerator neutrino beams.

Due to the surprisingly large size of the $\theta_{13}$ mixing angle, the next generation of accelerator neutrino beams will be able to access $CP$ violation in the leptonic sector, the neutrino mass pattern and perform precision measurements of the oscillation parameters to test physics beyond the three neutrino paradigm. Still, the technical challenges of this programme are remarkable. In this talk I will review the latest results of accelerator neutrino experiments and their plans for upgrades. I will hence discuss the challenges for the next generation of experiments and the novel experimental techniques that are under development to address the dominant source of systematics and take full advantage of the unprecedented power of these new beams.
