The Advanced Virgo (AdV) experiment is now close to ending the commissioning phase and starting to take data, thus joining the international network of second generation gravitational wave interferometers, together with Advanced LIGO. Among the various AdV subsystems, an important role it is covered by the Thermal Compensation System (TCS), responsible for the correction of the optical aberrations in the interferometer. They originate from both construction defects and laser power absorption and can prevent the detector from reaching the design sensitivity. In this contribution, the characterization of the TCS subsystem sensors and actuators and the most recent results of the commissioning will be presented.
